Researchers at Uppsala University have explained why curling stones trace a curved path across the ice.

Harald Nyberg, Sara Alfredsson, Sture Hogmark and Staffan Jacobson explain how the roughness of the surface of the stone and the interaction with the surface of the ice determined the curve of the stone.
